Jerusalem Educational Bookshop raided, owners arrested & ‘From the River to the Sea’ confiscated by Israeli police
On Sunday, 9 February 2025, the Israeli police raided the beloved Jerusalem Education Bookshop and arrested owners Mahmoud and Ahmed Muna. They confiscated our colouring book ‘From the River to the Sea’, and accused the famed booksellers of carrying material “containing incitement and support for terrorism”. Thankfully, Mahmoud and Ahmed Muna have since been released.
But we are appalled once more at the utter depravity of the Israeli state.
Our educational colouring book ‘From The River to The Sea’ was created to provide a gateway into the story of Palestine.
Through a series of stunning illustrations, Soweto-based Nathi Ngubane tackles the injustice of the Nakba, delves into the history and culture of the land, and introduces young readers to the key concepts driving and sustaining Palestinian resistance. It’s a celebration of Palestinian life and resilience.
Israel’s attack on a children’s book teaching love, solidarity and justice means they have run out of ideas.
